These are the rules for using Ganson+. By making an account or posting here, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What Ganson+ is
Ganson+ is a fan-made revival of the old Google+, run by volunteers as a hobby. It is not made by, owned by, or connected to Google. Its look is inspired by Google+ and by the Loogle+ project, and its code was written from scratch.
Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If the law where you live requires you to be older to use a site like this, you must meet that age.
- You can't use Ganson+ if we have banned you before.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself. Use a password you don't use anywhere else.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Don't pretend to be another person, a brand, or a staff member.
- There is no password reset right now, so don't lose your password.
What you can't post or do
- Anything illegal.
- Any sexual content involving minors. We remove it, ban the account, and report it to the authorities.
- Threats, harassment, or targeting someone with abuse.
- Other people's private information, like home addresses, phone numbers, or real names they haven't shared.
- Spam, scams, bots, or mass-created accounts.
- Malware, phishing links, or attempts to break into the site or other people's accounts.
- Content you don't have the right to share, like other people's copyrighted work.
- Porn or gore.
Moderation
Moderators can remove posts, comments, and communities, and can ban accounts, for breaking these rules or for anything else that puts the site or its users at risk. We try to be fair, but this is a small volunteer project and we don't promise to explain every decision.
Your posts
You own what you post. By posting it, you let Ganson+ store it and show it to the people you shared it with. You can delete your own posts. Deleted posts may stay in our backups for up to 14 days.
Privacy
We keep this short because we don't collect much.
- We store your username, a hashed version of your password (we can't see your actual password), your profile info, your circles, and what you post.
- Nobody else can see which circles you put them in.
- We store a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address when you sign up or log in. We use it to stop spam and enforce bans.
- Photos you upload have their location and camera data removed before they are saved.
- Our web server logs the IP address of each visit. These logs are deleted after 14 days.
- We use a cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use ad or tracking cookies.
- YouTube previews load their thumbnail from YouTube. The video itself only loads from YouTube when you press play.
- We don't sell your data or share it with anyone, unless the law makes us.
- The site runs behind Cloudflare, which handles the traffic between you and our server.
- We don't ask for your email address.
No guarantees
Ganson+ is provided as is. It may have bugs, go down, lose data, or shut down at any time. We are not responsible for what other users post or for any loss that comes from using the site.
Changes
We may change these terms. If we make a big change, we'll post about it on the site. If you keep using Ganson+ after a change, that means you accept the new terms.
